The Invadosome Consortium (IvC) is an international, open network of laboratories interested in cell adhesion and tissue invasion. Our main focus is on matrix-degrading cell adhesions, so-called invadopodia and podosomes (short: “invadosomes”).
In order to fulfil their respective functions in the body, cells have to move and to interact with their environment. These processes comprise the formation of new adhesion structures and also invasive migration into other regions of the body.
The Invadosome Consortium aims to provide a framework for research on cell adhesion and tissue invasion and to promote the exchange of knowledge in this field.
